Movie Review: Very Ordinary Couple (2013)

Arguably one of the most popular (and maybe only?) anti-romantic movies of the year, Very Ordinary Couple aims to tell exactly what is what. A straightforward, punch in the gut telling of a rather ordinary on-and-off couple. But ordinary stories may as well be the most extraordinary of them all.

Drama Review: Reply 1994

You guys, you better be thankful because this is going to be the last post of me blabbering on about Reply 1994. Sigh... oh Reply 1994. You are some beast. I don't know if I'll continue watching K-dramas at this point. Just kidding. I probably will watch one again someday. It was, for better or worse, a ride. A crazy, wonderful, slightly irritating ride. In the end, I came out alive. And in this post, I'm going to talk about it. Get ready. Also, contains spoilers especially the answer to the age old question: who the hell is the husband? So, caution to those who haven't watched and don't plan to find out until you find out yourself.

Pre-Finale Reply 1994 Thoughts

Tonight is the second to last episode of Reply 1994. Maybe it's because it's my "comeback" drama, but I feel like I'm getting a little too worked up over it. There'll be one (or two) more post of this and I'm done, I promise. Anyways, I want to take my time to reflect on what has gone down the past 19 episodes and maybe give you my thoughts on the final and biggest mystery of them all: who the hell is the husband? Obviously, this post contains spoilers and possible rants so you have been warned.

Brown Eyed Soul is Coming Back, Everybody!

Oh wow, so this is what happens when you've removed yourself from the K-entertainment world. You totally missed the comeback announcement of one of your favorite bands! Vocal group Brown Eyed Soul is returning to the airwaves in commemoration of their 10 year anniversary.

My Return to K-Dramas in the Form of Reply 1994

Hello, everyone. Long time no see. I know, I suck. Life got in the way. Mostly college stuff, but life too. And apparently the last post I made was last March which in internet time is a billion light years ago. I'm exaggerating but you get what I'm saying. Anyways, the point of this post is to talk about the first K-drama I've watched since, well, March 2013. To many of you that seems ridiculous, but again... Life happens. And that chosen drama is... Reply 1994.

'Jang Ok-jung' Trailer is Here!

I feel like I haven't posted anything about Yoo Ah-in these past months, and I feel bad. Please forgive me. But this should suffice, hopefully. The longer trailer for the new trailer of Jang Ok-jung! Get excited, guys.

Sung Joon, the Busiest of Bees

If you've been reading my blog a while, then you know I tend to talk about the same actors again and again. And Sung Joon is definitely an actor I've talked at least a few times before. He had a pretty awesome year last year. He was two leading drama roles, a leading single-episode drama role, a supporting and leading role in two movies, and even won an award for his stint in said single-episode drama role. Considering his first stint on Korean TV was a bit part in Personal Preference back in 2010, his career trajectory is pretty darn good.

Youngin' Yoo Seung-ho is Leaving for the Army

And we lost another one. But not just another one. It's Yoo Seung-ho, who is a 1993 kid, not even 20 yet. Okay so technically he is 22 in Korea? But still. Young dude. And yesterday, the day of March 5th is the day we see him leave. Not technically since he didn't even announce his leave to the media and left just like any other guy.

K-pop is Not Cool Anymore

Hey guys. I'm not dead. I just had my brain scattered everywhere and now I'm trying to get it back together. Hopefully it turns out okay. This post is going to be a little different than the ones I've been doing recently which is mostly review-esque posts. This is going to be a personal reflection on K-pop and my stance on that.

First Take: Clazziquai's "Can't Go On My Own"

Clazziquai is back with a new music video! In actuality I've heard snippets of this song many a times in the awesome drama Can We Get Married? It's actually one of my favorites from the drama. And guess how excited I was to find the whole song and knowing it was by Clazziquai? Very. So here is "Can't Go On My Own" featuring Kim Jin-pyo.

First Take: Drama Flower Boy Next Door

Another tvN Oh Boy! series has come and grace upon us once more. Following the success of the popular Flower Boy Ramyun Shop and Shut Up! Flower Boy Band, tvN followed up with another adorable series entitled Flower Boy Next Door. With a title like that, pretty boys are ensured. But is it a good enough followup?

Drama Review: Can We Get Married?

Another drama review! This time of cable drama Can We Get Married? This is the first drama where I did a First Take and a Review so I'm proud of myself for that. So I hope this review might help somewhat for those of you wanting to watch this drama and stuff. I won't be talking about the synopsis which I've already explained previously. Let's get down to it.

First Take: Girl's Generation's "I Got a Boy"

I am coming back to do a First Take on Girl's Generation's 'I Got a Boy'. And boy it was so... random. I don't really know what to say. It's just so overwhelming. It's definitely a nightmare for ADDs everywhere. So many distractions. So many different songs in one song. So many costumes. So much color. So, so much stuff.

First Take: Drama School 2013

First of all, happy new years everybody! New year, fresh start, no? Anyways, let's start the new year right. Not with a new years resolution, because I think that's just a waste of my time. I never fulfill my resolutions. Let's start with a new drama! While 2012 saw the fun Reply 1997, 2013 (and a bit of 2012) witnessed School 2013, a harsh reality check on the teenagers in Korean schools.
