My Most Played K-pop Songs

I've been wanting to write something on the blog for a while but don't really know what. I've actually been working on something (hint: 51st Baeksang Awards) but I want to be as thorough as I can, at least in the film category. So in the mean time, I thought I can talk about a topic I used to talk about a lot in this blog which is K-pop. I actually used to write more about K-pop than K-dramas but I haven't listened to much music in general these days. So I thought it'll be interesting to write about my most played K-pop songs just for the fun of it. Also, the songs featured here may not be my current favorites, mostly because I listened to them a lot at the time while I haven't listened to the newer ones as much.

Album Review: Kim Sunggyu's Another Me

It's a Kim Sunggyu love fest around here. I can't help it, okay. If you don't like it, well, maybe we shouldn't be friends. Just kidding. But seriously, take a listen to INFINITE's resident grandpa hamster leader on his fabulous first solo mini-album attempt. Because Another Me deserves another listen. Again and again.

INFINITE's Sunggyu's First Solo Album. For Real.

I don't think I've been too silent about my love for INFINITE's Grandpa Leader Kim Sunggyu. I mean, it's hard not to love this guy, really. Him being the sole person reeling me into the world of INFINITE. I know I've been going at it about wanting him to have his own album because I can't get enough of his voice. He did have his stint as a solo singer on Immortal Song 2 but you know that's not enough. So get ready for this, all you people out there. Woollim Entertainment has confirmed his solo debut album through the beauty of an album cover.

My Sunggyu Solo Dreams Come True

Well sort of.

If you've been following my blog, then you'd know my tiny obsession with INFINITE's leader, Kim Sunggyu. I even dedicated a whole post on him. Seriously. To me, he is that cool. And if you read that post, you'd also know my burning desire for a Sunggyu solo work. He's done a solo song before, but to me it's not enough. I need an album. But now that INFINITE is picking up speed as a group, solo album might be the last thing on Woollim's mind. The next best thing? Have him compete in a singing competition.

First Take: INFINITE's The Chaser

After spending a few months in Japan in attempt to take over the world one country at a time, INFINITE is back with a rockin' new Korean song. 'The Chaser' sounds very INFINITE and it's not a bad thing. And if there's one thing that is different, it's their maturity. So check out this song!

Sunggyu Successfully Ran Away from the SM Machine

Apparently my favorite INFINITE member, Sunggyu, once auditioned for SM Entertainment. I guess who wouldn't. But is it bad that he got turned down by perhaps one of the biggest idol factory company in all of Asia?

INFINITE Will Be Back. In 2 Months.

After a super week of blogathon last week, I am back to my regular programming. Which is talk about K-pop and all that. And when I say K-pop, I mean INFINITE. I don't really listen to newer K-pop these days, because well, they suck. But I know I can depend on these guys for super awesome music at all times. Good news is they'll be back! Bad news is I have to wait two months. Thanks a lot.

It's Coming, INFINITE's 2nd Invasion Concert

I haven't talked about INFINITE for a while, mostly because they haven't released their regular material lately. They released a Christmas-y single entitled 'Lately' back in December, but it was a combination of laziness and lack of Sunggyu lines (forgive me, I'm terribly biased) that I decided not to review it. Anyways, personal issues aside, this post is going to talk about a momentous occasion in INFINITE's short but glorious history, their first Korean solo concert entitled 2nd Invasion.

First Take: INFINITE's BTD Japanese Edition

So in case anyone's wondering, INFINITE will be leaping over to the land of the Japanese, following just about every other Korean idol that ever existed. And also like those other Korean idols taking a chance at the biggest music industry in Asia, INFINITE will be releasing Japanese remakes of their songs. It's the same songs with only Japanese lyrics. Exciting, I know. And with that comes the release of "BTD (Before the Dawn)" in Japanese. Boy, oh boy, this is going to get interesting.

Appreciation Post: INFINITE's BTD (Before the Dawn)

If you've been reading a few of my posts, I may have mentioned this song once or twice. It really is INFINITE's best song to date. No question. Every time a new single of theirs come out I will always refer back to this song. I mean, this is almost perfect. Probably one of my favorite songs in K-pop. Maybe ever, proven by its number one position in my iTunes's most played. That song is none other than the song, BTD (Before the Dawn).

First Take: INFINITE's Paradise

Spazz! INFINITE's Kim Sunggyu

Warning: this corner might not make sense because, well, spazzing isn't really what you call an intelectual activity. I write who I've been paying attention to. The difference between Muse of the Moment and Spazz! is that MoM is also more of to spread awareness of the awesomeness of a particular tallent while Spazz! is just another fangirl activity. I apologize beforehand if and when things go crazy, because the possibility is quite high. Nevertheless, enjoy!

Who is my first Spazz! "victim"? It's none other than the honey-voiced leader of INFINITE, Kim Sunggyu!

Album Review: INFINITE's Over the Top

As I've mentioned before, I love the South Korean boy band INFINTE. On July 21, 2011 they released their first full album, Over the Top which consists of 10 fresh, new songs. Here are my thoughts of this album!

Muse of the Moment: INFINITE

Today I want to introduce you to a little corner I'd like to call Muse of the Moment. Now, this muse can be anything from music, people, movies. Anything really. It's just a little corner for my personal ramblings. Nothing more.

So who am I going to ramble about today? It's the Korean boy band INFINITE! Such an amazing group that is extremely underrated.
